The Indian Academy of Cytologists

 

FORMATION OF REGIONAL / STATE CHAPTERS

 

GENERAL:

 

1.  The Indian Academy of Cytologists shall encourage formation of regional / state chapters in order to

a.   Propagate the knowledge of cytology

b.   Consolidate its presence in different parts of the country

c.   Increase its membership strength

2.  The formation of regional / state chapters and their functioning shall be governed by certain regulations as described below.

 

 

APPLICATION AND APPROVAL:

 

1.  The chapter shall bear the name of “Indian Academy of Cytologists” followed by the name of the respective chapter (eg. Indian Academy of Cytologists – xxxx Chapter).

 

2.  Prior permission shall be sought from the executive committee by way of application that can be downloaded. The completed application form should be forwarded to the office of Secretary IAC. All relevant details should be provided.

 

3.  The Secretary in consultation of the Executive Committee shall then communicate in writing to the concerned chapter about grant of permission, within a time frame.

 

4.  The Executive Council reserves the right to terminate recognition to any of the chapters if found indulging in activities against the interests of the academy.

 

5.  A given state shall not have more than one chapter. Chapters started in the name of individual cities shall not gain recognition.

 

6.  Regional chapters may comprise a group of neighboring states, which are not already running state chapters. A state that is already running a chapter will not be permitted to be part of the regional chapter. This is done to avoid conflicts of interest.

 

 

  

DUTIES OF IAC TOWARDS THE CHAPTER:

 

1.  The Indian Academy of Cytologists shall officially recognize the respective chapter by way of announcement in the Newsletter and at the time of annual conference.

 

2.  The Indian Academy of Cytologists shall provide “technical assistance” and advice to the chapters to enable them to conduct their activities in a meaningful manner. There shall be no financial commitment from the Academy to the Chapter.

 

3.  The academic activities reported by the chapters shall be published in the newsletter from time to time as decided by the editor of newsletter.

 

4.  The chairperson of the chapter or one -duly nominated – executive member shall be invited to attend the executive council meeting of IAC but shall not have any voting rights.

 

 

DUTIES OF THE CHAPTER TOWARDS IAC:

 

1.  The executive members of the chapter should necessarily be life members of the Indian Academy of Cytologists.

 

2.  The executive members of the chapter should encourage its members to become members of the Indian Academy of Cytologists.

 

3.  The executive of the chapter shall send reports of its activities at least once in a year to the editor news letter of IAC and to the secretary of IAC before the month of July for publication in the newsletter and for preparing the report by the secretary.

 

4.  The chapter shall indulge itself in propagating activities related to the field of cytology.

 

5.  The chapter shall not indulge in any activities that are against the interests of the Indian Academy of Cytologists.

 

6.  The executive members of the chapter shall make sincere attempts to make monetary contributions to the IAC from collections of CMEs or other activities it may conduct from time to time.

DECLARATION

 

I / We the office bearers of the -----------------------------------------------------------state chapter/ regional chapter hereby declare that the activities of the chapter will be in the interest of the Indian Academy of Cytologists (IAC) and abide by all the rules of the IAC. I / we will contribute PART OF financial surpluses arising from the organization of the CMEs, Workshops and other activities to the IAC.

We will be encouraging members to attend the annual conferences of the IAC.
