The EQA program was initiated 5 years ago. It is now being run under the chairpersonship of Dr S Radhika. From year 2006 onwards the participation has been made mandatory for all the accredited laboratories. A total of 29 laboratories are taking part in the programme, They have been divided into four groups – Group A, B, C and D with about 7 labs in each group. A set of 5 slides [4 gynecological (cervical Pap smears) and I non-gynecological exfoliative cytology (fluid) smears) are dispatched to the first laboratory in four groups for onward circulation. In order that more members of the academy can participate in the programme, from the year 2007 onwards representative photomicrographs of the cases are being put up on this site. The cases in which it was possible to make a diagnosis on photomicrographs have only been included. Your responses can be sent to Dr S Radhika, Chairperson, EQA Programme at drsradhika@gmail.com ; eqa@cytoindia.com The comments and the diagnosis of the cases will be put up once all the slides have been circulated amongst the participating laboratories. The cases will be discussed during the Annual conference of the IAC, usually held in Nov / Dec.
