FNAC of Myxoid Liposarcoma

Abstract

A rare case of Myxoid Liposarcoma in the upper thigh of a 62 years old man is reported. This case was diagnosed by FNAC and the tumor was excised surgically. The histopathology confirmed the diagnosis of Myxoid Liposarcoma Liposarcomas account for about 20% of all sarcomas in the adulthood, show a slight male predominance and the peak age of onset is the fifth to seventh decade. Myxoid Liposarcoma and its higher grade Round cell type together account for 30-35% of Liposarcomas. The differential diagnosis to be considered are Myxoma, Myxoid MFH and Round cell Tumors.
