Diagnostic Evaluation of Epileptic Patients: Basic Tenets not to be Forgotten
Abstract:
Epilepsy is a group of conditions which may reflect diverse brain disorders or an otherwise normal nervous system. It has been observed that often advanced investigations like EEG, MEG, CT, MR, PET, SPECT etc. are requested for without following the basic tenets of physical examination. A report of a series of four patients where a simple physical examination followed by fine needle aspiration cytology helped in the diagnostic evaluation of cases is presented here.
