President Elect for 2027 / President for 2028:

Number of posts: 1 | Tenure of post: 1 year

Eligibility criteria:

  • Should be an active life member of IAC for at least 15 years.
  • Should have served at least one full term of three years as an executive committee member prior to his/her nomination.
  • Should have attended three or more GBMs in the immediate past 5 years.

Indian Editor of Acta Cytologica

Number of posts: 1 | Tenure of post: 3 years

Eligibility criteria:

  • Should be an active life member of IAC for at least 15 years.
  • Should have served at least one full term of three years as an executive committee member prior to his/her nomination.
  • Should have attended three or more GBMs in the immediate past 5 years.
  • Should have experience and high academic achievements in Cytopathology and be in a senior position for at least 15 years.
  • Should have good number of publications in indexed journals of which at least he should be original articles as the first author.
  • Following candidate shall be given preference a) Editor of Journal of Cytology or Equivalent b) Member of Editorial Board Journal of Cytology or Equivalent c) Reviewer of an Indexed Journal of Cytopathology d) Authored or edited a book or contributed chapter in a book of Cytology or Pathology published by a reputed publisher.

Chairperson Standing Committee for International Affairs

Number of posts: 1 | Tenure of post: 3 years

Eligibility criteria:

  • Should be an active life member of IAC for at least 15 years.
  • Should have served at least one full term of three years as an executive committee member prior to his/her nomination.
  • Should have attended three or more GBMs in the immediate past 5 years.
  • Should have experience and high academic achievements in Cytopathology and be in a senior position for at least 15 years.
  • Preference will be given to the following: a) Past President of IAC b) Past Secretary of IAC.
  • The candidate should be a member of International Academy of Cytology and continue to remain so till serving IAC in this post.
  • Should have attended at least two International Congress of Cytology prior to filling nomination.

Executive Committee Member

Number of posts: 3 | Tenure of post: 3 years

Eligibility criteria:

  • Should be an active life member of IAC for at least 10 years.
  • Should have attended three or more GBMs in the immediate past 5 years.

📅 Election Timeline
  • Receipt of nomination by Secretary’s Office 15/07/2026
  • Information to contestants after scrutiny 31/07/2026
  • Withdrawal of nomination 14/08/2026 by 17:00 hours
  • Dispatch of ballot papers by post on / before 01/09/2026
  • Return of ballot papers by 15/10/2026
  • Scrutiny and counting 20/10/2026
⚠ Important: Incomplete forms, missing signatures, late submissions, or multiple nominations will be rejected.
📢 Declaration of Results: At the time of Annual General Body/Executive Committee Meeting to be held during 56th Annual Conference of IAC at SGPGI, Lucknow.
Criteria for Rejection of Application
Application form shall be rejected under the following circumstances:
  • Incomplete nomination form
  • Nomination form without appropriate signatures
  • Nomination form received after due date
  • Nomination form received electronically
  • One member can file nomination for only post at one time, if more than one nomination is received from a candidate, then all nominations received from that candidate shall be rejected.
  • Life associate member and honorary members are not eligible for election/nomination for any post. Once rejected, application from the given candidate shall not be entertained again in the same year.
